A warm welcome to Wood Lane Primary School from Mrs S. Fraser (Headteacher)
Here at Wood Lane Primary School, we are an innovative, forward-thinking school based in the heart of its local community, where all learners are happy and empowered to ‘be the best version of themselves’. We are a school where we all believe that everyone has the potential to be extraordinary!
Within school, we have a devoted team of trusted, nurturing, and caring individuals who work relentlessly to make every day a fun and magical day of learning; to suit every child’s needs, and to ensure they make rapid gains not only as learners across the whole curriculum but as individuals prepared for next century living, as well as the world that we live in today.
We are a school that educates the whole child and places the child at the heart of everything we do. It is our duty and privilege as a school and community to make a difference every day, wasting no time and making every minute count.
Through our dedication to personal development both inside and outside of the classroom, we ensure that we make a difference to every single child and that no child is left behind.
Our school motto 'Be the best version of yourself' applies to all our staff as well as our children. We believe in breaking down the barriers that our children and families face to enable them to reach their potential.
We see parents as partners and are hugely thankful for the support we receive from families and the local community who work with us to provide the very best for our children.
If you would like more information or would like to visit us, please contact the school office. We will be delighted to help.

What makes us different?
- We are a small village school, with small class sizes
- We accept children 'rising 3's into our nursery provision in January and April.
- We have experience of working and supporting children with complex medical conditions and special educational needs.
- We advocate for the children with SEND within our school and champion colleagues to be inclusive.
- We are committed to supporting children with SEND in the wider community. We want to equip and enable others to meet their needs. We aim to break down barriers and believe that by developing an understanding of SEND, we can create a more inclusive social society.
- We have close links with local community members.
- We are working collaboratively with the Creative Learning Partnership Trust, as part of our school development journey, to ensure the best offer for all of the children.
